  • Capernaum (/kəˈpɜrniəm/ kə-pur-nee-əm; Hebrew: כְּפַר נַחוּם, Kfar Nahum, "Nahum's village") was a fishing village in the time of the Hasmoneans. Located on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee.[1] It had a population of about 1,500.[2] Archaeological excavations have revealed two ancient synagogues built one over the other. A church near Capernaum is said to be the home of Saint Peter.

  • ISRAEL, JERUSALEM: Golden dome and beautiful mosaic tiles of the Dome of the Rock shrine in Jerusalem. The Dome of the Rock shrine in Jerusalem is revered by all three Abrahamic faiths, Muslims, Jews, and Christians. Muslims believe the rock is the place that Mohammed ascended to heaven or Masjid Quba al-Sakhra. Islam acknowledges the holiness of the Temple Mount to Jews, who face there when they pray. Jews believe the site of the Temple to be where Abraham almost sacrificed his son Isaac. For Christians, the Temple Mount is the birth-place of the church. Since September, 2006, only Muslims are allowed to enter the Dome of the Rock.
